The Invitation Doubles competition held at GRFC on 3rd April, was very well attended with 36 players playing in 18 doubles teams. The weather was below par for Easter, being cool in the spring breeze. The format of the day was 5 timed games of 50 minutes duration; 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.
Immediately after lunch the jack throwing competition was held, to win a bottle of wine or large Easter egg! Following game 4, the guess the total points scored during the day by all teams at the end of game 5 was closed, with the winner receiving a bottle of Prosecco.
Prizes were awarded to all game winners in every round as follows:
Round 1, 18 packs of hot chocolate, coffee, and biscuits
Round 2, 18 bottles of Bucks Fizz with a jack
Round 3, 18 large Easter eggs
Round 4, 18 Bottles of wine
Round 5, 18 luxury beanie hats
