The over 60’s doubles competition held at Hartley on 23rd, an open event, was very well attended with 36 players playing in 18 doubles teams. The weather was wet and cold! The format of the day was 2 timed games of 45 minutes in the morning followed by an hour for lunch. After lunch was the popular 10 minute jack throwing competition, this month to win a bottle of wine and some chocolates! Then 2 more timed games of 45 minutes, with the final game having the jack replaced with a mini pork pie! The day started at 10:15am and finished including presentation of prizes by 3:45pm.
