Sixteen players competed for the Kent Singles Championship on a warm but rainy Friday night on 5th July at Hartley Country Club. The format was leagues and knockout, with the top two from each league going through to the main competition, and the bottom two going into the Silver.

The quarter finals saw Aston beat Dean, Kai beat Richard, Tim beat Craig and Jason beat Becky. In the semi finals, Aston edged past Kai and Tim narrowly beat Jason. The final was a see-saw affair which saw Tim take an early lead, but Aston pegging back to close the gap. It was 11-10 to Tim going into what proved to be the final end, and despite a fine carreau from Aston, two great points from Tim earned him the two points needed for the victory!

The Silver competition was an all Crockenhill affair from the semi finals onwards. After beating fellow team members, the final saw Steve beat Sonya 13-4.

Thanks to all at Hartley for their hospitality and hosting.
