This Friday 13th September sees 13 Kent teams, plus 3 managers, make the trip up to Pakefield in Suffolk for the Pétanque England Inter-Regional Championship, Challenge & Junior competitions. The flagship event takes place over the weekend of 14th & 15th September at Pontins Pakefield, and is the biggest pétanque weekend in the PE calendar by far.

The Kent qualifying series took place earlier in the year, with the aim of finding the top 12 triples teams in Kent. In total, 54 members will be representing Kent at Pakefield, with the KPA subsidising costs of kit and accommodation.

Kent, as usual, are entering all 3 competitions. The Championship squad consists of 8 teams of 4 players in each team. The Challenge squad has 4 teams of 4 players, and the Juniors are a team of 3. Each squad has a non-playing manager too.

Kent juniors Tegan Finley, Zac Finley & James Rudden, and manager Jamie Finley, will be looking to defend the title they won last year!

The Championship & Challenge squads will both be looking to go one better this year, having both finished as runners up to Chiltern region in 2023.

There is also the PE President’s Cup up for grabs, which is awarded to the region with the highest number of total wins across all 3 competitions.

All Kent squads are shown below and we wish everyone the best of luck! Thanks to David Plumhoff for the graphics.
