The over 60’s competition held at Hartley on 24th October, an open event was extremely well attended with 46 players playing in 23 doubles teams. For the first time a team all the way from Suffolk joined in the competitive and fun event. Blessed with sunny dry and slightly cool weather conditions following on from storm Benjamin that passed through the previous day. The usual format of the day was 2 timed games of 50 minutes in the morning followed by an hour for lunch. This was followed immediately after lunch by the popular 10 minute Jack throwing competition, this month to win Oktoberfest beer or not. Then 2 timed games of 50 minutes the final game having the jack replaced with a mini Bratwurst.
The day started at 10.15 am and finished including presentation of prizes by 3.50pm.
