Although it was a bright late summer day with plenty of sunshine in the afternoon, the threat of rain remained throughout the day but we stayed broadly dry. Thirteen teams registered for the Kent League Handicap competition. This was just over double the number from last year.

As is usual, the Kent League supplemented cash prizes, with bottles of wine for the individual players on the day. The full cash prize fund was £260 which consisted of the total money collected on the day and will be paid directly to the clubs of the winners. Additionally, 27 bottles of wine were distributed on the day to the competitors.

Every team enjoyed 2 or 3 games in the morning leagues as with the odd number there was a bye needed.

The afternoon main competition with 8 teams, was completed by use of a snake; and the remaining 5 teams entered a consolage in a league with byes.
