A disappointingly low turnout of just three teams entered the Kent Triples Championship today. The venue was The Railway Inn and the weather was a warm 25ºC with a cool breeze. Many thanks to Duncan Brown for turning up early and preparing the pistes and the venue. All teams played each other twice, in a home and away format, with the home team deciding the piste for the match.
At the end of the double round robin there was a clear winner, with 4 wins out of 4, the Meadow trio of Geoff Booth, Kai Sheffield & Jason White took the title! Runners up with 2 wins were Dean Ashby, Tim Edwins & Steve Brown. Congratulations and good luck to both teams who will represent Kent at the PE Champion of Champions Triples event at Leicester in October.
Thanks also goes to newly qualified umpire, Martin Pennell who kept all the teams honest during the day! Congratulations to Martin for passing his umpire’s exam and we look forward to seeing Martin umpiring more of our Kent events in the future.
