A very disappointing turn out of only 6 teams contested the Kent Doubles Championship on a hot sunny day at GRFC. Although a low number, it meant an easy format of a complete round robin with no byes at all. Every team had 5 matches and all were played in good, competitive spirit.

The Meadow pairing of Dean Ashby & Kai Sheffield won all of their 5 matches to take the title! The runners up spot went down to points difference, with Tim Edwins & Jason White (Earl Grey / Meadow), just finishing ahead of Keith Atkinson & Trevor Gordon (GRFC / Meadow).

Thanks once again to GRFC for setting up and hosting the event. The next Kent event is the KPA Triples Championship, being held at The Railway Inn on Sunday 3rd August. It would be great to see a much better turnout for what is always a good day of pétanque. Look out for more information in the coming weeks, and don’t forget all events are listed on the Events page of the website.
