A report from the over 60’s “National Creative Day” event, by Barry Menzies.
The Over 60’s doubles competition was held at Hartley Country Club on Friday 30th May. An open event which was very well attended with 34 players playing in 17 doubles teams. 20 teams had preregistered for the event, but 3 teams were unable to attend for various reasons.
The day was blessed with warm and sunny weather conditions. The format of the day was 2 timed games of 45 minutes in the morning before the lunch hour. This was followed by 1 more timed game and then a game of “Bingo Balls” in the afternoon. Want to know more about this format, then come and try it at the next event on the 27th June!
The day started at 10.30am and finished, including presentation of prizes, by 3.15pm.
